SUMMARY: The Maintenance technician Trainee position is designed to develop Maintenance technicians for Faribault Foods, Faribault location. The trainee will learn the skills necessary to act as a maintenance technician through hands on training, classroom training and OEM training. The trainee will complete a 12-month training program to be able to perform the essential duties on the Maintenance Technician position description.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Shadow and learn from operators, PM mechanics, Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance supervisors, Maintenance managers, Engineering, Safety Team and Continuous improvement team.
• Complete 12-month training program that and be able to explain and demonstrate in theory and practice of maintenance tasks.
• Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of Safe, Quality Foods.
• Learns and uses CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) to enter and retrieve activity log information and reports.
• Learn from other mechanics on how to troubleshoot the various items that come up identify line performance issues and assist in correcting them
• Assist with Install, adjust and repair processing equipment in accordance with specifications
• Train and Maintain equipment utilizing a Planned Maintenance Program
• Practice safe work habits wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks
• Learn to identify safety issues and how to repair these issues.
• Responsible for general housekeeping of maintenance and production areas, actively working toward a clean and safe work environment.
• Responsible for Good Manufacturing Practices compliance
• Able to meet all attendance requirements based on Company's Attendance Policy
• Effectively cooperate with direct supervision as well as maintain professional and cooperative relationships with peers.
• Be able to consistently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:
§ High school diploma or equivalent education experience.
Experience:
§ 1 to 3 years in a multi-shift manufacturing facility.
§ Food production a plus.
