Job description

Overview

Performs diagnostic and interventional examinations of the heart, blood vessels and other body areas under the direction of a licensed physician. Will work between the Cardiac Cath, Electrophysiology and Interventional Radiology labs.


Responsibilities

  1. Use of the fluoroscopy equipment, Epic EMR, MERGE hemo-dynamic system within the labs.

  2. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.

    • Assesses patient condition to assure best patient care and notifies physician if intervention is needed.

    • Able to orient patient to lab environment, including equipment and procedure to be performed.

    • Assists in emergency situations under direction of the physician.

  3. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease process for proper positioning to obtain maximum diagnostic information as evidenced by imaging.

  4. Maintains fluoroscopy equipment, Contrast Injector, and other equipment in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to Manager.

  5. Performs various clerical duties including, but not limited to:

    • Verification of information and exams performed, using Epic and PACS.

    • Updates and changes exams description to reflect actual exams performed.

  6. Checks inventory as able.

    • Notifies Inventory Control Specialist of items that need ordered.

    • Properly charges all medical/surgical supplies used during procedures.

    • Restocks as needed.

  7. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the Cath, IR and EP labs.

    • Sets up required equipment according to standards.

    • Prep and scrub procedures in all labs using sterile technique.

    • Records hemodynamic readings as per standards for each procedure.

  8. Must be available for equitable on-call shifts after normal operating hours

    • Will be available on the Hospital premises within 30 minutes of notification of procedure.

  9. Accountable for keeping Confluence Health Standards, protocols and procedures related to the department and keeping skills current.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.


Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of an approved Radiology Technology or Cardiovascular Technology Program.
  • 24 months of employment at Confluence Health OR similar Cath/IR experience.
  • Technical equipment proficiencies to include IVUS, FFR/IFR, INPELLA, SHOCKWAVE.
  • Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, accurate keyboarding, email communication and password management.
  • Active Washington State License.
  • Current ACLS/BLS Certification.
  • At least one of the following certifications: RCES, RCIS, ARRT (CI), AART (VI).
