We are looking for an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Technical Consultant to join our Northeast regional team and serve local clients as well as clients across the country. An EHS Technical Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them manage regulatory compliance, reduce operational risk, and improve environmental and workplace safety performance. The role combines technical expertise, project management, client relationship management, and business development to deliver successful EHS solutions across a variety of markets.

Woodard & Curran has an opportunity for a dynamic, detailoriented, and clientfocused Technical Consultant who can support and manage EHS projects and provide innovative and superior services to our industrial, commercial, municipal, and institutional clients. The selected candidate will collaborate with our National Technical Leaders and Client Managers delivering work for our national EHS Practice with support from a diverse, talented group of engineers and scientists. Successful EHS Technical Consultant must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate diverse stakeholders, solve complex problems, and effectively communicate technical information to both regulatory agencies and business leaders. Ultimately, the role is focused on helping organizations operate safely, sustainably, and in compliance with regulatory requirements while achieving their operational and business objectives.

Location: Northeast Region; Remote/hybrid opportunities considered

 

Travel: Approximately 50% travel in-region is anticipated for client engagement, site visits, and team collaboration.

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
  • Lead EHS consulting projects from proposal through delivery, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Apply Woodard & Curran's Project Management Framework to deliver consistent, high-quality project outcomes.
  • Advise clients on environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, process safety management, hazardous materials, permitting, audits, risk assessments, and EHS management systems.
  • Translate complex federal, state, and local regulatory requirements into practical strategies that support safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Serve as a primary client contact, building trusted relationships and understanding each client's business, risk profile, and operational goals.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, and safety professionals.
  • Support business growth through client development, proposal preparation, staffing coordination, and identification of new consulting opportunities
What You Will Need To Succeed:
  • 8-12 years of professional experience in environmental, engineering, or EHS consulting, with project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational safety, or a related field; professional licensure or interest in obtaining a professional credential is a plus.
  • Program/project experience within RCRA, TSCA, TRI, Tier II, SPCC, and DOT hazardous materials recommended.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and teams while maintaining effective client communication.
  • Experience interpreting environmental, health, and safety regulations and preparing compliance plans, audit reports, permit applications, training materials, and related deliverables.
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to safe work practices and the ability to model safety leadership for clients and project teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across large, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft platforms; interest in developing tools, templates, or automated processes to improve EHS compliance work is encouraged.
$90,000 - $145,000 a year

Group A (ME) = $90,000 - $120,000

Group B (MA, RI) = $100,000 - $130,000

Group C (Andover/Canton MA): = $120,000 - $145,000
 

This position's anticipated pay range is provided; the final exempt salary or non-exempt hourly pay will depend on experience level and consider a percentage-based geographic differential based on where the final candidate will be working. Geographic differentials recognize and reflect the cost of labor differences between geographic markets.
