Overview

As a Manager in Technical Accounting, you will be part of a centralized, global technical accounting team supporting IGT's corporate organization across all business segments and geographic regions. This role is responsible for leading and advising on special projects related to IGT compliance with U.S. GAAP. This includes revenue transactions as well as other unique and complex transactions including complying with disclosure requirements, lease accounting, balance sheet analysis, fielding technical accounting questions, supporting Sarbanes-Oxley activities regarding key controls, and supporting the quarterly and annual financial reporting process. A substantial portion of this role involves obtaining knowledge of IGT product offering and business case background and applying the appropriate accounting rules to various types of contract-based sales transactions, coordinating with finance teams from Sales, Finance, Accounting, Product, and other business owners, and providing clear communication regarding the appropriate accounting treatment.

You will be required to research and apply your technical GAAP knowledge to current transactions; research proposed GAAP and assess the potential impact to IGT. This position works on multiple high-priority projects simultaneously and requires a detail-oriented, highly technical accountant with strong verbal and written communication skills. This individual will liaise with multiple business partners at various levels within IGT including senior-level executives, the sales team, product management, international subsidiaries, as well as internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide global technical accounting guidance (both US GAAP and IFRS) to internal customers across all business segments and geographic regions, and prepare technical accounting position papers supporting conclusions reached
  • Provide guidance and training to divisional accounting and finance directors on technical accounting matters
  • Monitor and review the actual recording of the accounting treatment to ensure compliance with the issued technical accounting papers
  • Assist with the analysis of contracts under revenue recognition and leasing standards across diverse global commercial structures
  • Perform key control activities identified for matters within the team scope
  • Support the month end close process
  • Support the quarterly and annual financial statement disclosure process
  • Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors
Qualifications
  • B.A./B.S. Degree in Accounting
  • +5 years of combined Public and Private Industry accounting
  • CPA certified, preferred
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Experience within a multinational business preferred
