Job description

*This is a 100% in office temporary position in Las Vegas, NV lasting approximately 3-6 months.

Vanguard Integrity Professionals has a temporary position available for a Technical Writer I. The successful incumbent will be joining our highly qualified team of professionals to create, revise and maintain clear, accurate and user-friendly technical documentation to support products, systems and internal processes. This role collaborates with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to translate complex technical information into documentation that meets corporate, regulatory and end user needs.

DUTIES

During your role as a Technical Writer I, you will be responsible for the following:

• Create and update basic technical documentation including user guides, installation steps, API notes, and feature descriptions.

• Collaborate with engineers to gather information, clarify requirements, and ensure documentation is technically accurate.

• Maintain and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and formatting while following established templates.

• Assist in documenting new features, product changes, and release notes under the guidance of senior writers or engineers.

• Organize documentation structures, ensuring content is easy to navigate and aligned with documentation standards.

• Produce diagrams, screenshots, and visual aids that support explanations and improve overall document readability.

• Perform quality checks on documentation to ensure accuracy, grammar, style consistency, and compliance with writing guidelines.

• Update internal knowledge bases, how‐to guides, onboarding materials, and troubleshooting content.

• Participate in review cycles by receiving and incorporating feedback from engineering, product, and QA teams.

• Support documentation version control practices including branching, merging, and publishing documentation changes.

• Help maintain documentation toolchains, such as content management systems, markdown repositories, or documentation generators.

• Contribute to improving documentation processes by suggesting refinements to templates, style guides, or workflows.

• Assist in creating training materials, internal job aids, or quick reference guides for cross‐functional teams.

• Learn and apply best practices in technical writing, information architecture, and structured documentation formats.

• Collaborate on localization or translation tasks by preparing content for internationalization.

• Shadow senior technical writers to gain experience in planning, structuring, and executing complex documentation projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or related field.

· No experience necessary

· Basic understanding of software development concepts. Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., AsciiDoc, Adobe Pro, Adobe Robohelp or similar).

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git). Familiarity with Agile development practices. Attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Analytical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.

· Ability to work collaboratively and take direction.
