What exactly do technical writers do?

Technical writers create clear, concise documentation such as user manuals, guides, and online help for products and services. They gather information from subject matter experts, organize it logically, and often use tools like Markdown or Adobe FrameMaker to produce the final content, ensuring it is accessible to the target audience.

Is technical writing replaced by AI?

Technical writing as a profession involves creating clear, accurate documentation that often requires understanding complex concepts and audience needs. While AI tools can assist with drafting and editing, they do not fully replace the critical thinking, expertise, and contextual judgment that technical writers provide. Human oversight remains essential for producing high-quality, reliable documentation.
