Job description

Description: Position Summary

The IT Support Specialist provides hands-on technical support and serves as the designated coverage resource when the IT Manager is unavailable. The position reports directly to the Finance Director, works collaboratively with the IT Manager to maintain continuity and follow approved standards, and has no direct reports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Provide timely day-to-day technical support to Resort employees, including troubleshooting computers, mobile devices, printers, software, email, connectivity, and related technology issues.

· Serve as the primary on-site IT contact when the IT Manager is unavailable, addressing routine issues, maintaining essential services, and escalating material risks or decisions to the Finance Director and appropriate Resort leadership.

· Install, configure, update, maintain, and troubleshoot company computers, peripherals, network equipment, wireless systems, applications, user accounts, and access permissions in accordance with approved security practices.

· Support technology used throughout Resort operations, including administrative, lodging, retail, food and beverage, ticketing, point-of-sale, guest-service, and mountain-operation systems, as applicable.

· Perform assigned monitoring, patching, endpoint protection, backup checks, inventory updates, and other cybersecurity and system-maintenance tasks.

· Document service requests, resolutions, equipment assignments, configuration changes, recurring issues, and coverage activities so work can be transferred smoothly between IT personnel.

· Coordinate assigned vendor requests, provide employees with clear technology guidance, and communicate issue status to affected staff and leadership.

· Assist with equipment replacements, system upgrades, seasonal readiness, technology projects, purchasing research, and asset planning as assigned.

· Respond to urgent outages or security concerns, including outside normal business hours when scheduled or authorized, and follow established escalation and incident-response procedures.

· Perform other related duties as assigned in support of Sunrise Park Resort operations.

Requirements: Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent and relevant technical training, certifications, or experience; an associate degree in information technology or a related field is preferred.

· Two or more years of hands-on help desk, desktop support, systems support, network support, or comparable technical experience.

· Working knowledge of Windows computers, Microsoft 365 or comparable platforms, user-account administration, networking, Wi-Fi, cybersecurity fundamentals, and common business applications.

· Ability to troubleshoot independently, prioritize and document work, communicate with nontechnical users, protect confidential information, and travel between Resort facilities; valid driver's license required.


Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting hospitality, resort, ski-area, retail, food-service, lodging, ticketing, point-of-sale, or other 24/7 operational environments.

· Relevant technical certifications and experience with endpoint management, backups, inventory systems, vendor support, or cybersecurity monitoring.
