Job description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Lead for Technical Studies to join the Air Force, Space and Intelligence Business Group providing systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The customer is developing the next generation of space and ground systems, architectures, and hardware and software solutions.

The Senior Lead for Technical Studies will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for a Program Office coordinating studies with our customer, mission partners and stakeholders (including end user operators) for requirements/design/deployment of new protection capabilities into space operations.

Senior Lead for Technical Studies responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist the Studies GPOC in execution of the following activities:
    • Define and lead execution of studies
    • Manage and shape studies program to meet evolving needs of the customer
    • Work with program offices and other organizations to execute studies
  • Assist customer in all studies-related technical activities
  • Support engagement with senior leadership on study results
  • Assist with strategic planning for studies
  • Support development and execution of long-term strategic plans and goals
  • Assist in organizing and managing studies information, data, metadata, and results
  • Perform technical review and quality control of analytical products
  • Assess impact of study results on broader NRO Enterprise
  • Assist managing external relationships between Studies program stakeholders
QualificationsMinimum:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD and nine (9) years or more experience in a technical field (Math/Physics/Aerospace Engineering or related discipline)
  • 10+ years of experience in the space domain
  • Understanding of the NRO Mission spaces, such as SIGINT, GEOINT, Research and Special Communications missions
  • Familiarity with the NRO space vehicle acquisition process
  • Broad understanding of IC/DoD space communities
  • Subject Matter Expert in at least one of the following Space Domain areas:
    • Spacecraft
    • Space Environment
    • Astrodynamics
    • Adversary capabilities
    • Physics/Aerodynamics
    • Remote sensing
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve complex challenges with minimal oversight
  • Ability to synthesize information for various audiences (external stakeholders, senior leadership, group leadership, SMEs)
  • Ability to collaborate with numerous stakeholders and partners throughout the DoD/IC
Desired:
  • Experience with physics-based modeling and simulation techniques and tools
  • Experience with AI/ML applications
  • Knowledge of intelligence production cycle, limitations, and when to apply engineering judgment

Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
