Job description

The Technical Solutions Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for developing, supporting, and improving technology and business solutions that enable Clark Pacific’s business outcomes. This person works with IT team members, business groups, and vendors to help translate business needs into practical, secure, and maintainable technical solutions. This role contributes to application development, system integrations, reporting, data management, automation, and emerging AI-enabled solutions under the guidance of senior technical resources and IT leadership.

Competitive Compensation Range: $47.16/hr. to $53.85/hr. depending on experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Exercise a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when working with staff, projects, and proprietary information.
  • Develop, test, maintain, and support business applications and technical solutions.
  • Understand and extrapolate business needs and workflows and identify and recommend improved business processes and tools.
  • Build and maintain reusable services, APIs, scripts, and libraries that support business systems and integrations.
  • Build AI agents and/or other tools under the direction of the Senior Technical Solutions Engineer
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of data pipelines used to collect, transform, and store business data.
  • Support data models, reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions used by business teams.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to support automation, AI-enabled tools, and workflow improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application and performance issues.
  • Administer relational and non-relational databases
  • Provide input on effort, technical complexity, and risks for assigned work and project planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • Primary work environments include Clark Pacific offices and manufacturing facilities.
  • There will be periodic exposure to manufacturing environments which may present hazards such as noise, electricity, chemicals, heavy equipment, and other automated and manual machinery.
  • There will be periodic exposure to outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat, wet and/or humid environments.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent: Sitting at desk, utilizing computers and phones, standing and walking
  • Periodic: Repetitive foot, leg, hand, arm, shoulder, and torso movements
  • Occasional: Business travel (10%). Bending squatting, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years’ experience in application development, database administration, data integrations, or related technical work in business environments.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more common programming languages, such as Python, JavaScript, .NET, C#, or VB.NET, is required.
  • Experience working with relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL, is required.
  • Experience supporting or maintaining system integrations using APIs, file transfers, or event-based processes.
  • Experience using, extending, and configuring the Microsoft Productivity Stack (Teams, SharePoint, Office 365, Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI, Copilot) is required.
  • Practical experience with data pipelines, analytics tools, AI-enabled tools, or automation solutions is preferred.
  • Working understanding of cloud platforms, Azure preferred, including compute, storage, and security concepts.
  • Experience with construction tools including Autodesk Construction Cloud,
  • Tekla, Viewpoint, Bluebeam and other applications used in manufacturing and construction are strongly preferred.
