Technical QA roles often require knowledge of automation tools, scripting languages, and testing frameworks. Their work helps deliver reliable, efficient, and secure products to end-users.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a technical QA?

To thrive as a Technical QA, you need a solid understanding of software testing methodologies, bug tracking, and quality assurance processes, often supported by a relevant degree or QA certifications. Familiarity with automated testing tools like Selenium, JIRA, and scripting languages such as Python or Java is highly valued. Effective collaboration requires proactive communication, thorough documentation, and adaptability to evolving project needs, all of which help ensure high-quality software releases.

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace industry to hire a Technical Quality Assurance Inspector. If you're passionate about quality, precision, and aviation safety, this is your opportunity to help ensure aircraft systems and components meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.

In this critical role, you'll inspect aircraft systems, verify production quality, support aviation safety initiatives, and work alongside engineering, production, and customer teams to deliver products that meet rigorous aerospace and contractual standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to mission success and the safety of every aircraft you help inspect.

What You'll Do

As a Technical Quality Assurance Inspector II, you'll play a key role in maintaining quality and compliance throughout the manufacturing process by:

  • Verifying the proper installation and serviceability of aircraft systems and operational components.

  • Validating Field Service Technician work to ensure accuracy and adherence to established standards.

  • Serving as the on-site Aviation Safety Official, supporting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Capturing, analyzing, and interpreting statistical process data to identify trends, verify compliance, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Developing, reviewing, and improving operational procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation.

  • Building strong customer relationships by providing technical feedback, quality guidance, and training.

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).

  • Typically 2 or more years of relevant quality assurance, manufacturing, aerospace, or inspection experience.

  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience, and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical schematics and engineering documentation.

  • Basic understanding of electrical wiring concepts.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe products.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Experience drafting work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • Industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA, A+, FCC, or FCC GROL.

  • Experience using measurement and test equipment, including spectrometers, oscilloscopes, and other precision measuring instruments.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9000 and AS9100 quality management standards.

  • Previous aerospace manufacturing or aviation quality experience.

Physical & Work Environment

This role requires working in both manufacturing and outdoor environments. Candidates should be comfortable:

  • Frequently walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, and performing repetitive hand movements.

  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

  • Working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sun.

  • Occasionally being exposed to loud noise, fumes, and hazardous materials.

  • Performing duties in a safety-sensitive environment involving aircraft, vehicles, equipment, and hazardous materials.
