Job Description
CDM Smith is seeking a Project Manager (or an emerging PM) to support and lead delivery of water, wastewater, stormwater, and infrastructure projects based in Albuquerque, NM. This role is ideal for:1.an experienced PM who can serve as the primary client point of contact and manage delivery end-to-end, or2.a technically strong engineer who is ready to step into project management responsibilities with support, mentorship, and clear path to full PM ownership.In addition to core PM duties (scope/schedule/budget/client), this position includes technical delivery leadership-driving the technical approach, coordinating across disciplines, and ensuring deliverables are high quality and "right the first time." These technical leadership elements align with CDM Smith's internal PTL (project technical leader) expectations.Water-sector experience will be considered on an individual basis, but experience in the following bullets is preferred. Develop, review, and approve basic to moderately complex engineering designs for: Water and wastewater treatment facilities, Water and sewer systems, Pipelines and Pump station engineering Ensure all project designs comply with state, and local regulations. Apply firm policies, procedures, and best practices across all engineering deliverables. Conduct site visits, field reviews, and technical studies to verify design requirements and site-specific conditions. Update project design criteria as needed throughout project development. Contribute to CDM Smith's technical leadership by preparing and submitting technical papers, abstracts, and conference presentations. Collaborate with sales and client service teams to prepare proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Meet with current and prospective clients to understand and support their evolving design and project needs. Completing Quality Assurance/Quality Control of key deliverables. Represent CDM Smith at conferences and professional symposia to enhance visibility and foster client relationships. Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key decision makers in our clients' organizations. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior staff; delegate tasks effectively and support staff development within the discipline.#LI-AE1
Skills & Abilities
Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 10 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Pay Range Information
CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate's salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training.

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
