Our Akamai Information Technology organization is a team of industry-leading professionals dedicated to owning and driving the innovation of Akamai's Corporate Infrastructure, Applications, Development, Security, and Compliance for our customers and corporate stakeholders Information Technology manages all aspects of the IT Program Lifecycle and the coordination and delivery of key cross-organizational strategic programs

Partner with the best

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will have end-to-end accountability for the delivery of programs. You'll lead strategic programs from planning to sustainment while reporting the program benefits to the Executive Sponsors and Governance Boards .

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading program definition, planning, scope, and execution of assigned programs, managing the health status of programs to anticipate risks and/or issues and implement mitigation plans

  • Defining integrated program plans (including detailed work breakdown structures) and the deliverables required for the program's success

  • Identifying dependencies and interdependencies between programs and successfully scope, size, and lead implementation of identified transformation/growth opportunities

  • Driving stakeholder alignment and communicating program status to executive sponsors and governance forums

  • Working independently and comfortably in ambiguous circumstances to create clear paths forward for teams

  • Adopting best-practice guidelines to influence and implement continuous improvements to PMO processes

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 8 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field or its equivalent

  • Have professional experience as a Project Manager/Program Manager in an IT organization

  • Have a sufficient level of technical background to provide credibility to technical teams and accurately and objectively evaluate risks and issues

  • Have experience working on projects/programs supporting Enterprise Applications

  • Have experience managing external implementation providers

  • Demonstrate solid leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills in addition to excellent presentation and communication abilities

  • Have a successful track record of stakeholder management and leading effective communication across senior leadership and technical teams

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $119,600 - $215,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
