About the Role & Team:

At Disney Experiences Technology, our team creates world-class immersive digital experiences for the Company's premier vacation brands including Disney's Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app.

The Lead Technical Project Manager is a central leadership role in the project management team. In this position, you will lead high-priority, multi-site strategic programs related to software development and infrastructure. You will also partner with engineering teams and leadership to establish processes across all program areas and ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Technical Project Management.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead large-scale programs and/or projects, ensuring seamless collaboration across various teams and work streams.

  • Act as the point of contact for project partners such as Engineering, Product Management and Architecture, and providing regular updates to ensure alignment with project goals.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.

  • Build and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and prioritization plans.

  • Produce monthly expense and capital forecasts.

  • Research and provide cause of change for variances from the project scope, schedule and cost.

  • Maintain a continuous view of resource demand and capacity across projects; proactively partnering with leadership to plan for leveled prioritization across development and sustainment activities.

  • Lead project meetings and maintain minutes, including purpose, agenda, and progress towards goals.

  • Lead and direct junior technical project managers in the execution of their work during the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare and facilitate project status presentations, dashboards, risk assessments and data-driven storytelling for leadership and executives.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 7 years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise class solutions.

  • Possesses a technical understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle, and engineering.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills with the ability to influence others and build consensus.

  • Hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall including a blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery.

  • Deep understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD)

  • Experience with project management tools like MyPPM (Clarity) and Jira and with reporting applications such as Tableau and PowerBI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical project management experience in Commerce or a related field

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Orlando, FL is $148,300.00 to $198,800.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
