Job description

Role Summary
Toyota Financial Services is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead enterprise Java application delivery initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing application development projects, driving Agile delivery, coordinating cross functional teams, and overseeing end to end SDLC execution.
This role is intended for a delivery focused leader who can effectively engage with architects, developers, QA teams, product owners, and business stakeholders. The candidate is not expected to be a hands on Java developer but should possess sufficient technical understanding to participate in architecture discussions, review delivery approaches, manage technical dependencies, assess risks, and facilitate informed decision making.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Management
Lead end to end delivery of Java based application projects and strategic technology initiatives.
Manage project schedules, scope, budget, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issue resolution.
Drive project governance, executive reporting, and stakeholder communication.
Coordinate delivery across onshore and offshore teams.
Technical Coordination
Partner closely with solution architects, development leads, QA teams, DevOps teams, and product owners.
Participate in technical discussions and design reviews to understand architecture, integrations, dependencies, and delivery impacts.
Challenge assumptions, validate delivery estimates, and facilitate decision making when technical trade offs arise.
Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical implementation plans.
Agile Delivery Leadership
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Release Planning.
Work with Product Owners to prioritize backlog items and manage sprint commitments.
Stakeholder Management
Engage business partners, technology leaders, compliance teams, and external vendors.
Provide regular status updates, risk reporting, and executive communication.
Build alignment among business and technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of IT Project Management, Technical Program Management, or Application Delivery Management experience.
Proven experience delivering enterprise application development projects.
Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and software delivery practices
Experience managing distributed teams consisting of developers, architects, QA engineers, business analysts, and product owners.
Technical Knowledge Required
The candidate is not expected to be a hands on developer, but should have enough technical depth to effectively engage engineering teams and support delivery decisions.
Preferred Technical Background
Understanding of Java based application environments.
Familiarity with Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise application architectures.
Understanding of system integrations and API based solutions.
Knowledge of cloud based application platforms and deployment models.
Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD concepts, release management, and production support processes.
