Job description

T&M Associates is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager to join our Community Development team in New Jersey. This role is ideal for a civil engineering professional with a strong background in the public sector who is looking to grow into a broader project management leadership path.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, coordinating technical teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company performance goals.

The successful candidate will bring a strong technical foundation in municipal engineering, along with proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills. This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote flexibility with in-office collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage community development projects from planning through completion, ensuring delivery aligns with client expectations, schedules, budgets, and corporate performance goals.
  • Coordinate and delegate project tasks across technical staff and project teams while maintaining overall accountability for successful execution.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and Assistant Project Managers, fostering professional growth and team development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, collaboration with construction management teams, and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field required; PE license preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Demonstrated experience managing municipal capital improvement projects (roads, drainage, water, sewer, parks, and public facilities).
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to municipal engineering and public works construction.
  • Solid understanding of stormwater management, permitting processes, and infrastructure asset management practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering/design software.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, budgeting, scheduling, and team coordination skills in a fast-paced project environment.

T&M Associates is committed to pay transparency and equitable compensation practices in compliance with applicable laws, including the New Jersey Equal Pay Act. T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $130,000-$165,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.

T&M Associates offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and professional growth of our employees. Benefits include comprehensive insurance (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, flexible work schedules, wellness programs, and professional development opportunities — all within a people-first, award-winning hybrid work environment. See more details about benefits here.
