IT INTERN

Please note: This is an on‑site role. Applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Lansing, MI area and commute to the office daily.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

IT Intern’s is responsible for assisting Staff with support issues by phone, email and other support systems while maintaining a high level of customer service. This position will be responsible for assisting IT Staff with the setup and troubleshooting of computers and software as well as performing technical and system diagnostics as required. This position will learn important support in other related business aspects of the IT Department by assisting with setup and troubleshooting of company phones, printers, copiers and other office equipment as needed.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
  • Provide first-level technical support to staff via phone, email, and in-person
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
  • Assist with setup and maintenance of workstations, printers, and mobile devices
  • Document support requests and resolutions in the help desk system
  • Support onboarding of new employees with technology setup
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with the Technology team on special projects and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy and security policies
SPECIFIC ABILITIES
  • Currently enrolled in a college or technical program in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • Basic understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and networking concepts
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Professional demeanor and customer service mindset
  • Must be able to lift and move computer equipment as needed
  • Ability to process and evaluate confidential information and materials.
