Job description

Fibertek, Inc. (www.fibertek.com) is a leading developer of laser and electro-optical systems for the aerospace community, with key contributions to earth-sensing, laser communications, and lidar sensors for NASA, DoD, and commercial customers. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to lead a group of talented engineers to develop new laser transmitter subsystems, lidar systems, and space-based communications systems

As the Technical Program Manager, you will have primary responsibility for cost, schedule, and delivery for one or more engineering development programs. Depending upon the program size, you will either serve as the primary customer contact or work in support of a Senior Technical Program Manager who is the primary customer contact. You will also work with technical and integrated product team leaders to develop maturation plans for system design concepts that meet program objectives.

The workload will at times include multiple concurrent projects, with a mix of small, quick-turn projects and larger, longer-term projects. Your role will include: Definition of the program's Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that adequately reflects the contract Statement of Work. Leadership of the development of the program's Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and/or Plan, including mapping of task dependencies and schedule optimization, as well as inclusion of key milestones and metrics that will be used to track progress.

Regularly review program actual hours/dollars spent, develop estimates to complete program work scope and compare estimate at complete to contract budget base. Prepare return to green plans as necessary. Prepare cost or scope growth proposals as necessary.

Develop and / or maintain program risk and opportunity registers. Manage program risks and opportunities. Active collaboration with representatives in the customer organizations to align expectations and priorities toward mission success.

Coordination with Contracts to propose and/or implement contract modifications into updated workplans, as-needed. Assignment of roles, responsibilities, and tasks to program team members and clear communication of program priorities and goals. Collaboration with senior management regarding organizational needs and dependencies that are critical for program success; and regular reporting of program cost, schedule, and execution status.Experience and expertise required: BS engineering, MS engineering preferred Minimum of 5 years of program management experience with electro-optic or laser systems Systems engineering or related experience Strong communication and documentation skills Earned Value Management System experience Excellent customer interfacing skills US citizenship required Salary Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000-$210,000
