Job Description
Join Ford's ADAS team as a Technical Program Manager for Hardware, to lead the development and delivery of critical hardware components for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. In this role, you will orchestrate cross-functional teams, manage complex hardware initiatives from concept to launch, and ensure the timely, high-quality execution of our ADAS hardware roadmap. Responsibilities
As a Technical Program Manager for ADAS Hardware, you will be at the forefront of developing and delivering cutting-edge Hardware solutions that power Ford's Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. This role demands a unique blend of technical understanding in ECUs and Sensors and exceptional Program Management skills. You will be responsible for leading the development timelines and delivery of ADAS Components to meet program milestone, coordinating efforts across internal teams and external suppliers, and ensuring the successful delivery of robust and reliable ADAS hardware.
What you'll do...
  • Partner with key stakeholders to define, scope, prioritize, and deliver major ADAS hardware and system integration initiatives that span multiple teams and multiple organizations across Ford
  • Understand the needs of stakeholders across the product development organization and influence as appropriate to achieve alignment on the prioritized initiatives
  • Apply technical project planning, management, and leadership for the development and delivery of ADAS hardware components, ECUs, sensors, and their integration
  • Implement and execute roadmaps, schedules, project plans, and resourcing plans to enable ADAS to meet commitments across all customer constituencies
  • Lead team members on modern, world-class, hardware design, development, validation, and manufacturing practices, and precise execution of a technical plan (including management of milestone progress, dependency tracking, risk management, and risk mitigation)
  • Interface with and lead cross-functional teams - Systems, Software, Feature, Suppliers, V&V, Quality - to define and drive development plans, ensuring on-time hardware component and system delivery with highest quality
  • Utilize technical knowledge and capabilities to assist technical leaders and engineers in resolving dependencies and issues with stakeholders
  • Help to resolve or facilitate resolution of technical issues
  • Elevate the visibility of the team - provide regular "push" updates through Wiki, Jira, Teams, email, and other communication mediums
  • Communicate and present project status to a broad stakeholder and leadership community
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks, developing mitigations and/or recovery plans in event of project slips
  • Efficiently utilize work management tools - Wiki, JIRA, Project Management Tools - to make plans and status visible to leadership and to provide strategic planning options/contingencies

Qualifications
You'll have...
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or Controls Engineering
  • 5+ years experience in one or combination of D&R Engineer, Electrical Systems Engineering, Technical Program Management, Engineering Management or Equivalent discipline
  • 3+ years of experience using enterprise Engineering and Product Lifecycle Management tools (FEDE, Global Integrator, JAMA, TeamCenter, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience in the usage of industry standard project management tools for product development and delivery (MS Project or equivalent)
  • 2+ years' experience in the usage of the JIRA work management tool or equivalent for product development and delivery
  • Working level experience with GPDS or similar Hardware Product Development Process, familiarity with technical deliveries to milestones and an understanding of dependencies required to deliver successfully to each engineering milestone; Capable of navigating complex hardware development cycles, from initial concept through to production launch
  • Ability to understand complex technical issues and to present adjusted levels of detail based on target audience
  • Very strong business English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong presentation skills with ability to tailor material and presentation style to varied audiences (Executive to working level, strategy to technical)

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 and ranges from $97,140- 190,500.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
