Technical Program Manager

YOUR ROLE

  • Define breakdown structure of product features into modules, for assignment to product engineering teams for development etc.
  • Define project goals, facilitate strategic and technical discussions for ADAS algorithm development, and assist development teams in task prioritization.
  • Develop product workplan by estimating time and resources required, along with determining inter-dependency among modules and aligning with overall product roadmap and customer milestones
  • Refine or update technical product roadmap during the product development phase, based on changes to available resources.
  • Assigning modules of technical product roadmap to team, optimally leveraging available engineering resources.
  • Work with VP, System, Product and Vehicle Architecture team and Product Managers to ensure all product engineering work is consistent with GP architecture guidelines.
  • Recording proper documentation of SOWs and change requests.
  • Support evaluation of product design feasibility, development cost, maintenance, requirements, manufacturability, and performance
  • Manage/develop automotive advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) projects implement ADAS product technologies.
  • Monitoring the project milestones by creating and maintain JIRA dashboards to track progress, feature readiness and timely closure of issue tickets along with other key engineering milestones.
  • Establish and execute meeting structures on various development topics including cadence, agenda and tracking/closure of open action items.
  • Communicate impact of critical scope changes to stakeholders with regard to deliverables, timing, and quality.
  • Proactively identifying cross-team dependencies and thereby incorporate them into the program planning process.
  • Monitor Sprint metrics (e.g., Sprint velocity, defect rate etc.) to ensure high quality engineering output delivered to end customer.
  • Develop reports/updates to communicate the progression on ongoing issues, risks etc. to senior managers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Representing as key POC; in publishing/presenting data both internally and externally for feature/function performance relative to key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams, including software architects, software engineers, system engineers, developers, and product teams for timely completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Overseeing the product deployment process and assist in the integration process, if necessary.
  • Own and ensure high-quality, at-cost, and on-time delivery of the assigned product
  • Identify root cause of issues, failure modes , develop corrective action plans, and lead team for execution of effective resolutions.
  • Provide technical insights and assess feasibility for new ADAS feature requests, ensuring clear requirements, architectural alignment, and development readiness.
  • Formalizing the communication plans, cadence and defining agendas for meetings/reviews. Tracking closure of open action items across the teams.
  • Design and develop technical product roadmap to ensure delivery to product roadmap
  • Collaborate with Product Manager to refine product roadmap.
  • Provide inputs on technical feasibility, resource requirement, timeline, etc.
  • Support engineering resource staffing onto product engineering team by coordinating among Lead, Technical Program Managers , and with competency managers.

YOUR BACKGROUND

Key skills and competencies for succeeding in this role are:

Must Haves (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Computer Science, or a related technical field with 7+ years of experience in technical program management or engineering; OR a Master's degree in engineering or Computer Science, or a related technical field with 5+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Solid domain knowledge in one or more of the following: ADAS / Autonomous Driving, Data Infrastructure, or Cloud Compute platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver large-scale, cross-functional technical programs in a fast-paced automotive or embedded systems environment.
  • Strong understanding of the automotive product development lifecycle - from concept through SOP (Start of Production).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align engineering, product, and business teams.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with a bias for data-driven decisions.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on background in software or embedded systems development.
  • Experience with ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) process frameworks and process compliance.
  • Familiarity with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) or SOTIF (ISO 21448) standards.
  • Working knowledge of Agile / SAFe methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines in an automotive context.
  • Familiarity with automotive regulations and homologation standards.
  • Hands-on use of AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to automate routine TPM tasks such as dashboard generation, release notes, dependency tracking, and program health reporting.
  • Active certification in program management - PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe preferred.
