Job description

Our client is a leading defense manufacturer with offices surrounding the Rhinelander, WI and Kingsford, MI areas. They are looking for a Contracts Manager. The Contract Manager will be responsible for communicating applicable Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation requirements internally and with suppliers. In addition, this position will serve as the primary point of contact for support of contractual and compliance matters with internal departments.


The Contracts Manager must have contracts or project management experience, preferably within government, manufacturing, defense, a defense prime contractor, or another related industry.


Contracts Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related field, or equivalent experience in contract administration and oversight
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience in contract management within government or defense contracting sectors
  • Working knowledge of federal procurement regulations and familiarity with multiple contract types, including Firm-
  • Fixed-Price (FFP), Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), and Time & Materials (T&M)
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance
  • Strong analytical abilities, proven negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively


Contracts Manager Description of Day to Day Responsibilities:

Contracts

  • Manage the contract lifecycle process from proposal preparation, negotiation, execution, on-going administration and close-out
  • Ensure adherence to government and internal company compliance requirements, particularly the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
  • Contract and purchase order review and risk assessment
  • Review Customer and supplier terms and conditions review and risk assessment to identify potential business and legal risks, collaborating with legal teams and stakeholders to resolve contractual issues
  • Serve as the primary interface between the company and government contracting officers as it relates to contractual matters
  • Execute Non-disclosure Agreement (NDA)
  • Support contracts and compliance of Regular Sales, Bids & Proposals, Program management, Supply Chain and Defense Aftermarket
  • Identify and interpret Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR/DFAR) ensuring compliance and flow-down
  • Identify, assess and mitigate contractual risks, communicate findings and potential impacts to stakeholders and senior management
  • Initiate the Contract Verification Matrix (CVM) to facilitate the process
  • Lead the resolution of contract related issues and conflicts that may arise during contract performance and maintain accurate and organized records and correspondence
  • Perform data rights assessment, determination and communication
  • Oversee Intellectual property and formal contract closures
  • Risk assessment and review of long-term pricing, requirements agreements and basic ordering agreements
  • Risk assessment and review of Teaming Agreements, Agent Agreements, and Lease agreement Compliance
  • Annual customer representations and certifications review, completion and certification
  • Oversee System for Award Management (SAM) administration and renewal for all facility locations
  • Export Control Compliance Officer โ€“ Export compliance program administrator, perform export evaluations and provide guidance, customer liaison, export license applications, annual renewal with State Dept
  • Oversee US-Canada Joint Certification (JCP) for military critical technical data
