Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities Instructional Delivery Prepare and deliver engaging instruction in accordance with established curriculum guidelines. Classroom/Laboratory Management Manage classroom/laboratory environments to ensure a conducive learning atmosphere. Curriculum Development Develop, monitor, and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness and relevance.

Resource Management Manage equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for instructional activities. Student Assessment Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth. Student Advising Advises students on academic matters and provides guidance to support their educational journey.

Collaboration Collaborate with advisory committees, colleagues, and industry partners to enhance program effectiveness. Meeting Participation Attend departmental and institutional meetings to contribute to academic planning and decision-making. Promotion and Recruitment Promote educational programs, participate in student recruitment efforts, and support initiatives to retain students.

Student Support Support student organizations and activities to enrich their educational experience. Industry Engagement Develop and maintain relationships with business and industry partners to facilitate student opportunities and program growth. Evaluation and Professional Development Complete program evaluations, engage in continuous professional development, and stay current in the field.

Additional Duties Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the institution. Qualifications Educational requirements: 1. Associates degree or higher in any field OR 2.

High School diploma or equivalent with the plan of obtaining an Associate degree within three (3) years {Per Higher Learning Commission Determining Qualified Faculty Assumed Practice 8.2.} Occupational Experience: Must have a minimum of four years of full time equivalent (8,000 hours) experience as licensed Barber or Cosmetologist or Barber or Cosmetology instructor. In addition, one of the following must be met: 1. At least two years of related work experience in the last five years, or 2

Two years of teaching Barbering or Cosmetology course work at the post-secondary level within the last five years at an accredited school of Barbering or Cosmetology. Licensure: 1. Must have a valid State of Wisconsin Barber or Cosmetologist license AND 2.

Current State of Wisconsin Barber or Cosmetology Instructor License Certificate OR 3. Proof of successful completion of a State of Wisconsin Barber or Cosmetology Instructor course AND must obtain Barber or Cosmetology Instructor License Certificate within 12 months (1 year) of hire. Standards of Teaching Excellence Understanding Students and Fostering Student Success, Classroom Management, Planning/Organization, Content Mastery and Currency, Teaching Methodology, and Assessment of Student Learning Professional Contributions Essential Technology Experience with an Email system (Gmail, Outlook),Telephone - Experience with a voice mail system, and Computer - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Essential Supportive Technology Experience with or willingness to learn the following supportive technologies: Online Information Management Systems - Experience with INFOnline or other online information management systems used for student advising, student programs, grading, class schedules and rosters Blackboard - Experience with Blackboard or other web-based course - management systems Technology-based Instruction - Experience with technology-based instructional delivery systems including SMART symposium, interactive touch screen monitors, LCD projectors, DVD players and/or other classroom technology Emerging Technologies - Experience with emerging technologies (eg.

social networking applications) Supplemental Information This is a part-time faculty pool position. We are seeking candidates with flexibility to teach assignments to include any combination of the following: Instructional Modality: In-person, online, and/or hybrid Teaching Times: Daytime, evening, and/or weekend classes Assignments are temporary, not guaranteed, can vary in hours/days, and will depend entirely on course availability and department needs each semester. All work must be performed in the state of Wisconsin Application Materials & Requirements 1.

Attach All Required Documents (At Time of Application) Proof of Education: Unofficial transcripts for all degrees earned from an accredited institution. The transcripts must show the degree awarded, coursework completed and the conferred date. Proof of Credentials: Copies of current professional licenses and/or certifications required by the position.

Salary The hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time which is equivalent to $70 per hour. This starting hourly wage of $40 an hour is non-negotiable Interviews Selected candidates will be invited to interview at a date to be determined.

As part of the interview process, selected candidates are required to prepare a teaching demonstration which may be conducted in-person or virtually.
