Job description

Applications are being accepted for an Adult Education Cosmetology Instructor at our Main Street Campus, 1601 W Main St Mesa, AZ 85201.  School business hours are M-F 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is an exempt position with extended work hours if job related responsibilities are required outside the normal work hours. 
 

Position Summary: The Adult Education Cosmetology Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and laboratory instruction in cosmetology to adult learners. The instructor prepares students to develop the technical skills, safety practices, professional behaviors, and industry knowledge needed for successful employment and licensure. The position maintains a safe, organized learning environment; evaluates student progress; supports program completion and career readiness; and ensures instruction is aligned with EVIT requirements, applicable state regulations, and current industry standards. 

Salary: $63,642-$99,877 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry-related experience, teaching experience, and certification.

            Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt, 12-Month Calendar

Education and Experience:

  Current Arizona cosmetology license and an instructor license in good standing.

  At least one year of cosmetology teaching experience in a licensed public or private educational setting, or equivalent recent industry experience in a professional salon or cosmetology environment.

  Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in cosmetology sufficient to teach assigned course competencies.
 

Licensing/ Certifications and Other Requirements:

  Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  Must maintain all licenses and credentials required for the position throughout employment.

  Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) if required by applicable law or EVIT policy.
