Job Description
Sika Corporation is looking for an experienced Technical Director to join its growing Insulation team in the Dallas, TX area. The Technical Director is responsible for establishing, implementing and enforcing all technical policies related to the sale, use and installation of Insulation products and systems. By balancing sales potential and opportunities against associated potential risks, the Technical Director helps ensure the Insulation Division's long-term, sustainable growth. As a member of Insulation's Management Team, the Technical Director assists in the development and execution of the business unit's strategy.
  • Lead and manage the Technical Services Department staff, including succession planning.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of teamwork and effective communication within the Technical Department, and with all other departments within the company.
  • Make well-informed decisions to support the growth and overall health of the Insulation business.
  • Approve (or deny) all requests for non-standard use or application of company products (e.g., Special Warranty Requests).
  • Establish credibility as an expert in the field (industry advocacy, active participation in work groups, presentations, articles/papers, etc.).
  • Lead R&D efforts to bring new solutions to the market to increase sales and protect against threats in the industry.

Qualifications
The candidate must have excellent supervisory, communication, organizational and writing skills, knowledge of the insulation industry, and be willing to travel. The position is office based in the Lewisville, TX, and the individual must reside in the area.
  • At least a 4-year degree in Engineering, Building Construction or Architecture
  • Technical knowledge with at least 5-10 years of related experience.
  • Experience leading Trade organization committees, ASTM committees, etc.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
  • Strong presentation skills
