Job description

As a member of a Multidisciplinary Health Care team, the Registered Practical Nurse coordinates, performs assists with all types of Diagnostic Services examinations and provides patient care to meet the clients and family needs with the core values of respect, caring, innovation and accountability. Guides and directs clinical and technical associates within the scope of practice of the Registered Practical Nurse. Rotation through all modalities and sites, based on unit requirements, may be required.1. Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse
2. Current BCLS registration
3. Current certificates or current community college studies in asepsis, wound care, airway management, complex wound care, physical assessment, urinary catheterization, administering enteral feeds, medication administration, and transcribing physician orders
4. Documented completion of recognized IV administration and IV management, Venipuncture and Blood Products Administration course
5. Demonstrated skill and ability with Diagnostic Imaging Procedures
6. Competence with computers for patient database, appointment schedules and email
7. Demonstrated effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills
8. Effective problem solving skills, critical thinking and the ability to prioritize in a fast paced clinical environment
9. Evidence of participation in on going education and professional development
10. Demonstrated ability to work responsibly in a team environment
11. Experience with primary healthcare patient issues preferred.
