Description
Join Our Team at the CARE Center of New Jersey!
At the CARE Center of New Jersey, every role matters - because every person matters. When you join our team, you're not just stepping into a job; you're becoming part of a mission that brings hope, dignity, and practical support to individuals and families in need.
We're looking for a Facilities & Delivery Associate - someone dependable, hands-on, and mission-minded - to help keep our operations running smoothly and our community served with excellence. If you enjoy staying active, solving problems, and being part of something bigger than yourself, this role is for you.
Why You'll Love Working Here
This isn't your typical facilities or delivery role. Every box you move, every delivery you make, and every space you prepare directly impacts lives.
You'll be the behind-the-scenes hero who ensures food reaches families, spaces stay safe and welcoming, and operations run seamlessly. Your work will help power programs like Food for HOPE, making a tangible difference in your community every single day.
Here, your role is essential - not optional.
  • You'll be part of a purpose-driven team making a real impact
  • You'll work in a positive, team-oriented, and supportive environment
  • You'll enjoy a role that keeps you active, engaged, and never bored
  • You'll see the direct results of your work in people's lives

What You'll Do
โ€ข Support life-changing programs: Receive, organize, and distribute food and supplies that families depend on, ensuring proper storage, stock rotation, and quality control.
โ€ข Execute delivery & logistics with excellence: Plan routes, coordinate schedules, track shipments, and manage delivery documentation while safely loading, transporting, and unloading goods with care and precision.
โ€ข Maintain vehicles & ensure safety: Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance, maintain logs, and report issues promptly to ensure safe and reliable transportation.
โ€ข Maintain our facility with excellence: Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs (including painting, minor fixes, and upkeep), clean and sanitize common areas and restrooms, and support seasonal needs such as landscaping and snow removal.
โ€ข Support events & operations: Set up and break down spaces for events and special projects, ensuring facilities are functional, safe, and ready to serve.
โ€ข Manage inventory & organization: Monitor inventory levels, receive donations, maintain organized storage areas, and track supplies using inventory systems to ensure efficiency and readiness.
โ€ข Coordinate & problem-solve: Partner with staff, vendors, and contractors to address maintenance needs, schedule repairs, and resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively.
โ€ข Provide administrative support: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and assist with scheduling maintenance and coordinating logistics.
โ€ข Deliver outstanding service: Respond to requests and resolve concerns from staff, volunteers, and community members with professionalism, care, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
Why This Role Matters
Behind every delivery is a family being served. Behind every organized space is a program that runs smoothly.
Your work ensures that critical resources reach the people who need them most - safely, efficiently, and with dignity. The impact you make here isn't just operational - it's deeply personal.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and mission-driven - someone who takes pride in doing things right and enjoys working as part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Experience in delivery, logistics, facilities, or a related field
  • Ability to safely lift and move 50-75 lbs. on a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Forklift certification
  • Delivery or specialized truck training experience
  • Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends as needed

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
  • Knowledge of Delivery & Facilities Operations: Understanding of delivery logistics, safe driving practices, traffic laws, and basic facilities maintenance procedures.
  • Safety & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of proper handling, transportation, and storage of goods, along with adherence to safety regulations and organizational policies.
  • Organizational & Time Management Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage schedules, track deliveries, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail & Dependability: Demonstrates consistent reliability and accuracy in completing tasks, ensuring quality and efficiency in all responsibilities.
  • Technical & Maintenance Skills: Basic proficiency in facility repairs and maintenance tasks, including the use of tools and equipment.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, vendors, and community members.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Capable of multitasking, responding to changing priorities, and addressing challenges with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving materials, and supporting daily facilities and delivery operations.

What We Offer
We believe meaningful work should be supported by meaningful benefits:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 403(b) retirement plan with company match
  • Company-paid life and accidental insurance
  • Paid time off to rest and recharge
  • A welcoming, mission-driven team culture
