The role requires direct experience with Manhattan Active Transportation Management (MATM), including the ability to access the application, understand its configuration framework, make and validate configuration changes, troubleshoot issues, and support day-to-day transportation operations.

This position also provides technical direction for integrations between MATM and internal or external systems. The Technical Owner will work directly with Transportation Operations, business analysts, developers, integration teams, and Manhattan Associates to design, implement, test, and support reliable TMS solutions.

This is an individual-contributor role requiring both hands-on MATM expertise and the ability to make sound technical design decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • MATM Configuration and Application Support
  • Serve as the primary hands-on technical resource for Manhattan Active Transportation Management.
  • Access and work directly within MATM to review, create, update, test, and troubleshoot system configurations.
  • Configure MATM capabilities to support transportation planning, execution, tendering, rating, routing, tracking, and related operational processes.
  • Evaluate business requirements and determine whether they should be addressed through native MATM configuration, an integration, an extension, or a process change.
  • Troubleshoot application behavior, configuration issues, data problems, and processing failures.
  • Investigate production issues using available application tools, logs, messages, alerts, and transaction data.
  • Implement or coordinate configuration changes through the appropriate development, test, and production environments.
  • Support testing, validation, deployment, and post-production verification of MATM changes.
  • Maintain configuration documentation and ensure changes are traceable and supportable.
  • Integration Design and Technical Direction
  • Define and maintain the overall technical integration design between MATM and internal enterprise systems.
  • Develop a strong understanding of inbound and outbound TMS data flows, including orders, shipments, loads, carriers, rates, locations, status updates, tracking events, and financial information.
  • Determine appropriate integration patterns, system responsibilities, data ownership, processing rules, and error-handling approaches.
  • Work directly with integration developers and internal system teams to define interface requirements and technical specifications.
  • Review API payloads, messages, field mappings, transformation rules, and interface designs.
  • Provide technical direction for synchronous APIs, asynchronous messaging, batch processes, and other integration methods used with MATM.
  • Ensure integrations include appropriate validation, logging, monitoring, reconciliation, retry, and recovery capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot integration failures across MATM, middleware, ERP, warehouse, carrier, and other connected systems.
  • Maintain integration diagrams, interface inventories, data mappings, and technical support documentation.
  • Technical Design and Delivery
  • Translate transportation business requirements into detailed MATM configuration and technical integration designs.
  • Participate directly in solution design, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and implementation activities.
  • Identify technical dependencies, risks, assumptions, and design constraints.
  • Recommend solutions that use native MATM functionality where practical and minimize unnecessary customization.
  • Review proposed solutions for reliability, maintainability, performance, and operational supportability.
  • Provide technical estimates and input into delivery plans.
  • Support projects, enhancements, defect fixes, and operational improvements involving MATM.
  • Partner with Manhattan Associates and implementation partners to resolve product questions and complex technical issues.
  • Production Operations
  • Provide advanced support for MATM production incidents and operational issues.
  • Perform hands-on root-cause analysis across application configuration, integrations, data, and connected systems.
  • Resolve issues directly where possible and coordinate with developers, vendors, or infrastructure teams when additional support is required.
  • Develop and maintain operational runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and support documentation.
  • Identify recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Support system monitoring and reconciliation processes to ensure transportation transactions are processing successfully.
