Bennett Marine has an excellent opportunity for an Data & Systems Engineering Intern to join our Planning team. As the Data & Systems Engineering Intern, you will uphold the safety regulations of our company while evaluating different operations processes to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations. The chosen candidate will perform regular process evaluations and recommend improvements to production processes.
Data & Systems Engineering Intern
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for operational and business data.
  • Analyze data using Microsoft Excel and Power BI to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with developing automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Assist with developing internal applications and data collection tools using Microsoft Power Apps and other platforms.
  • Help create connected processes for data collection, tracking, notifications, approvals, and reporting.
  • Work with different departments to understand current processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Support the development of KPI reporting and department performance tracking.
  • Assist with testing and troubleshooting dashboards, applications, workflows, and other internal systems.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Support continuous improvement, productivity, and cost reduction projects through data analysis and automation.
  • Assist with additional data, systems, and process improvement projects as required.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited program in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related study.
  • Strong interest in data analytics, automation, and business systems.
  • Experience with or interest in learning Microsoft Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Interest in learning Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint, and other development or automation platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or similar applications.
