What You Will Do
  • Open sterile supplies, prepare the sterile field and set-up instruments.
  • Assist the Surgeon by passing instruments, retracting and other tasks.
  • Perform surgical counts with circulating nurse.
  • Handle intra-operative medications, solutions and specimens.
  • Use state-of-the-art supplies and equipment to get the job done.

Qualifications
  • High School graduation or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology training program.
  • For graduates after July 1, 2009 - Certified Surgical Technologist Credentials, administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), must be obtained within 12 months after graduation or employment if not certified upon hire.
  • Must accumulate 15 hours of AST approved Continuing Education related to Surgical Technology per calendar year (July 1 thru June 30).
  • Maintain annual CPR Certification along with other mandatory competencies per hospital/department policy
