TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM MANAGER
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
Position is responsible for the planning and successful delivery of long term and / or complex technology projects or programs in a specific business unit while leading matrixed project team members that are each responsible for elements therein. This includes building technology project governance structures and delivery plans to enable fulfillment of articulated business goals. Role is instrumental in driving and tracking project activities, schedule, scope, and budget, as well as negotiating changes in plans and effective communication with all stakeholders. Success of technology project outcomes will be measured by the degree with which the initiative was delivered within time line expectations, budget and scope.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Independently manages multiple highly complex long-term projects and/or programs with significant impact on business processes and technology used firm wide
  • Influences strategic direction and develops tactical plans with substantial latitude
  • Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems and has extensive contact with internal clients and the business
  • Independently manages complex projects and programs from proposal and requirements definition to project planning and implementation, using broad and extensive input from industry and/or business unit subject matter experts
  • Independently manages highly complex project, program and/or portfolio budgets
  • Independently drives and manages project, program and/or portfolio activities relating to meeting objectives, budgets, scope, quality standards and schedules
  • Performs project risk assessments, including identifying key risk factors, providing effective mitigation strategies and assigning contingency action plans to both schedules and budgets
  • Manages projects and teams, including applying established methodologies, using change control templates and processes; managing time and recording activities using defined scheduling tools; monitoring budgets; coordinating resource acquisition and utilization; serving as a liaison with internal customers and external suppliers; and communicating regularly with project stakeholders.
  • Interfaces with all levels of management throughout the bank
  • Displays creativity when designing solutions to problems
  • Creates formalized reports and presentations and presents them to senior and executive level management
  • Creates effective governance structures and routines that consider strategic goals, existing project portfolios and multi-divisional impacts
  • Contributes effectively to the collective team effort and offers ideas and solutions to complex problems
  • Recognized as a trusted mentor and leader throughout the bank and is a credible role model to junior staff and peers
  • Leads Solution selection and implementation which impacts critical Bank units or functions
  • Participates in long-range planning and development of application or product roadmaps with business owners

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing highly complex technical projects involving large teams
  • Minimum of 2 years technical program and/or portfolio manager experience

Additional Qualifications
  • 2 or more years of banking or financial industry experience preferred
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Agile Scrum Master Certification preferred
  • 2 years of Agile Scrum Master experience preferred
  • Expert professional with deep expertise or unique industry knowledge, uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Develops resolutions to critical issues and broad matters.
  • Is recognized as an expert within the company both within and beyond own function
  • Preferred to have industry knowledge to support the design and/or vendor product selection to solve corporate wide issues or enhancements
  • Must be extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of program management methodology, project management tools and techniques across all project activities
  • Excellent presentation skills with a demonstrated ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner
  • Well-developed analytical skills and demonstrated ability to provide clarity to complex issues and synthesize large amounts of information
  • Must be able to create highly complex MS Project plans, MS PowerPoint decks and Excel workbooks

Compensation
Starting base salary: $99,000 - $176,000 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
