The Real Estate Paralegal will report to the Senior Counsel.

  • Coordinate, track, and report on title review, title curative work, and survey work.
  • Aid in the preparation and execution of closing documentation for various complex renewable energy transactions involving multi-parcel real estate interests.
  • Additional legal support as needed, including assistance with special projects as directed by the General Counsel and other Scout attorneys and/or assistance with various legal requests from other internal client groups.

You will also play an important role in Scout's continued growth and development as a company. We will ask you to consistently review and implement improvements to Scout's legal process management, including the following:

  • Suggest changes to Scout form documents.
  • Create and implement efficient and scalable processes and procedures to support land acquisition efforts of the company.
  • Support the development, refinement, and implementation of policies and procedures for review of title, title curatives, and internal trainings on real estate topics.

Furthermore, you will be exposed to the energy industry and the complicated regulatory ecosystem within which it resides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and Paralegal Certificate from an accredited university.

  • Interest in the renewable energy industry; prior experience in the industry is preferred but not required.
  • Tech savvy - ability to learn and operate at a high level in a variety of software applications.
  • Experience drafting documents (e.g., notices, amendments, assignments, consents, waivers, etc.).
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a flat organization, successfully leveraging the expertise of multiple colleagues in different lines of reporting.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
