Job description

Who We Are:

At SES Space & Defense, we deliver secure, resilient connectivity and integrated space solutions for customers operating in the world's most demanding environments. As part of SES S.A., a global leader in satellite-enabled communications, we combine capabilities across all orbits with extensive global ground infrastructure, managed networks, hosted payload solutions, and mission integration services to support communications, sensing, data transport, and operational resilience worldwide.

Our vertically integrated space and ground capabilities bring together satellite capacity, terrestrial infrastructure, advanced network technologies, and deployed user terminals to support mission-critical government operations around the world. We are a trusted partner to the U.S. Federal Government and national security community, allied governments, NATO, NASA, and other civilian agencies, delivering reliable, high-performance solutions when mission success is critical.

At SES Space & Defense, our people are our competitive advantage. You'll work alongside a mission-driven team committed to integrity, innovation, accountability, and delivering real-world impact for customers whose missions matter most.

#LI-Remote

The Opportunity

At SES Space & Defense, product marketing is about more than marketing technology. It is about understanding the missions of U.S. Government and defense customers and clearly communicating how space, network, ground, and technology solutions help them stay connected, operational, and ready when it matters most.

We are looking for an early-career Product Marketing Manager who wants to build expertise at the intersection of technology, national security, and marketing.

You will work across Product Management, Business Development, Sales, technical teams, Marketing & Communications, and agency partners to translate complex capabilities into clear, compelling stories that resonate with government and defense customers.

This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership early in your career while developing deep expertise in one of the most dynamic areas of the defense technology market.

What You'll Do

Turn technology into mission value.
Translate complex space, network, software, terminal, and communications capabilities into clear positioning, messaging, value propositions, and customer-facing narratives.

Build sales enablement.
Develop product briefs, presentations, solution overviews, web content, talking points, and other tools that help Sales and Business Development communicate our value effectively.

Support go-to-market strategy.
Partner with Product Management and commercial teams on GTM planning, product introductions, launches, campaigns, and market activation.

Understand the customer and competitive landscape.
Research U.S. Government and defense missions, priorities, technology trends, procurement environments, and competitors to help sharpen how SES Space & Defense goes to market.

Own product marketing workstreams.
Manage assigned projects from initial brief through final delivery, coordinating SMEs, stakeholders, approvals, and agency partners.

Protect message consistency.
Help maintain product messaging, value propositions, proof points, and sales assets so teams across the company are telling a consistent and differentiated story.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 1-3 years of experience in product marketing, technology marketing, B2B marketing, public-sector marketing, sales enablement, or a related field
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills with the ability to make complex technology understandable and compelling
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in defense, national security, space, satellite communications, networking, or emerging technology
  • Ability to research unfamiliar subjects, learn quickly, and turn information into actionable messaging
  • Strong project-management and organizational skills
  • Confidence working across technical, commercial, and creative teams
  • Familiarity with presentation and content-development tools such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, or similar platforms
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience

Experience in telecommunications or satellite communications along with knowledge of the federal market is valuable, but you don't need to arrive as a space or defense expert. You need to be ready to become one.

Why SES Space & Defense?

This role offers something different from a traditional early-career technology marketing position: the opportunity to connect your work directly to missions that matter.

You'll help shape how advanced space and communications capabilities are understood by the organizations responsible for U.S. national security. You'll work alongside experienced leaders, technical experts, and customer-facing teams while building specialized expertise in the rapidly evolving defense and space technology market.

For someone who wants to become an exceptional product marketer and wants their work to have a mission behind it this is an opportunity to do both.

SES Space & Defense - Trusted When It Matters Most.

SES Space & Defense is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $79,695 to $109,620. The final base salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the position's location, the candidate's relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

Where applicable, this position may also be eligible for an annual bonus. Employees are eligible to participate in SES Space & Defense's benefits programs, which include paid vacation, sick and personal leave; medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; a 401(k)-retirement plan; and others.
