Disability Law Group is dedicated to guiding individuals and families through some of life's most challenging moments. From Social Security Disability benefits to Veterans' claims, we advocate for people who need strong, compassionate representation. Our team is based in Troy, Michigan, and we're known for combining deep legal expertise with a client-first culture that values empathy, precision, and results.

We've grown steadily by staying committed to both our mission and our people. At Disability Law Group, success is measured not only in cases won but in lives changed. This is where advocacy meets accountability, and where every member of our team plays a role in creating impact.

This role is ideal for a strategic, hands-on technology leader who enjoys building better systems, improving business processes, and helping teams work smarter through technology.

The Director of Technology will lead the firm's technology strategy while personally driving key initiatives involving CRM implementation, workflow optimization, reporting, automation, AI adoption, and operational improvement. Success in this role requires someone who is equally comfortable planning long-term technology strategy and getting into the trenches to solve day-to-day business challenges.

One of the first priorities will be helping the firm evaluate, implement, and optimize its next CRM/case management platform while improving reporting, dashboards, workflows, and overall operational efficiency. AI is an important part of the firm's future, but the focus is on applying practical technology solutions that improve how attorneys and staff serve clients and not just implementing technology for technology's sake.

What you'll do:

  • Technology Strategy & Operational Leadership: Develop and execute the firm's technology roadmap while partnering with leadership to identify opportunities for operational improvement, scalability, and long-term growth.
  • CRM Strategy, Evaluation & Implementation: Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and optimization of the firm's next CRM/case management platform. Work closely with leadership to improve workflows, reporting, dashboards, automation, and user adoption. Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Workflow Optimization & Process Improvement: Evaluate current business processes, identify bottlenecks, simplify workflows, and implement practical technology solutions that reduce manual effort and improve consistency across the firm.
  • Reporting, Analytics & KPI Visibility: Design and improve dashboards, reporting, and operational metrics so leadership has clear visibility into firm performance, productivity, and opportunities for improvement.
  • AI & Automation: Identify practical opportunities to leverage AI and automation within existing business processes and technology platforms. Help the firm responsibly adopt AI capabilities that improve efficiency while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and client trust.
  • Technology Operations & IT Partnership: Work closely with the existing IT team member and external technology vendors to improve infrastructure, evaluate managed service providers (MSPs), strengthen security, and ensure technology investments support the firm's long-term objectives.
  • Training & Change Management: Train attorneys and staff on new systems and processes, develop documentation, drive adoption, and ensure technology changes are successfully implemented across the organization.
  • Governance & Technology Planning: Develop standards, documentation, and governance practices that support responsible technology use, data quality, security, and continuous improvement.

What we're looking for:ย

  • Experience leading CRM implementation, business systems, or technology transformation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of workflow analysis, business process improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing CRM, ERP, case management, or other enterprise business platforms.
  • Strong reporting, dashboard, and KPI development experience.
  • Experience working across leadership, business users, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Ability to manage technology projects from planning through implementation.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
  • Comfortable working independently while helping build the firm's long-term technology capabilities.
  • Proactive problem solver with a builder's mindset.

Nice to have:

  • Salesforce or other CRM implementation, administration, or architecture experience.
  • Experience with Filevine, Prevail, Clio, Litify, SmartAdvocate, or other CRM/case management platforms.
  • Experience evaluating CRM platforms and leading technology selection projects.
  • IT operations or infrastructure experience, including vendor management or managed service providers (MSPs).
  • Experience implementing workflow automation, AI tools, integrations, dashboards, or reporting solutions.
  • Experience working in legal services, professional services, healthcare, insurance, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with APIs, low-code/no-code automation platforms, and business intelligence tools.

Why you should work here:ย

  • High-impact role: Your work will directly influence how the firm operates, serves clients, and scales for future growth.
  • Opportunity to build: Help shape the firm's technology strategy while implementing practical solutions that improve day-to-day operations.
  • Mission-driven organization: Support a team dedicated to helping individuals and families through some of life's most challenging moments.
  • Collaborative leadership: Work directly with firm leadership on meaningful technology initiatives that have visible business impact.
  • Room to grow: This role is designed for someone who wants to build a technology function, develop long-term strategy, and grow alongside a rapidly expanding organization.

At Disability Law Group, you'll do more than manage technology.

You'll build systems, improve processes, modernize operations, and help shape the future of a growing law firm through practical, hands-on leadership.

If you're excited to solve problems, build better workflows, and make technology work for people and not the other way around.
