Operating Room Certified Surgical Technologist: Part-Time

Schedule: Monday – Thursday | No Weekends | No Holidays

Physicians’ Surgery Center of Tidewater is seeking a Part-Time Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team. We are a busy, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center serving the Virginia Beach community and are proudly affiliated with United Surgical Partners International (USPI).

The Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for supporting departmental functions in alignment with USPI’s mission, vision, and facility goals. This role establishes effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors. The Surgical Technologist scrubs procedures, demonstrates clinical competence, and collaborates with leadership to support safety, quality, customer service, and financial outcomes.

Position Summary

The Certified Surgical Technologist plays a key role in supporting the Center’s mission, vision, and operational goals. This position assists in surgical procedures, maintains a sterile environment, and works collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Schedule

· Part-Time

· Monday through Thursday

· Day shift hours based on surgical schedule

· No weekends or holidays

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields and instruments

· Scrub and assist during surgical procedures

· Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team

· Ensure proper handling and care of surgical instruments and equipment

· Adhere to infection control and safety standards

· Support facility goals related to quality, patient safety, and patient satisfaction

· Build and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and vendors

Qualifications

· Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required

· Previous experience in a surgical setting preferred

· Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures

· Excellent communication and teamwork skills

· Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care
