The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing IT teams in a manufacturing setting, as well as a significant understanding of software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Software Development Oversight: Manage the end-to-end delivery of internally developed software features ensuring timely delivery, quality and alignment with business needs.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor and lead a team of systems administrators, software developers (proficient in RPG, SQL, etc.) and support specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manufacturing Operations Support: Ensure the high availability and performance of business-critical systems that support 24/7 manufacturing operations, minimizing downtime and providing effective troubleshooting for issues.
  • Project & Strategic Planning: Plan and coordinate major projects, such as system upgrades, hardware migrations and new software implementations, from concept to rollout.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and manage IT policies, security protocols, disaster recovery and business continuity plans, to ensure data integrity, security and compliance with industry regulations, including NIST800-171r2 and CMMC requirements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between the IT department and other department heads (e.g., Engineering, Finance, Operations), to identify technology needs and align IT initiatives with organizational goals.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a related IT role, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management position.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with IBM i system administration and management, including proficiency in relevant programming languages (RPG, CL) and database design and management.
  • Industry Experience: Proven experience supporting IT in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment is highly preferred, understanding operational technologies and needs.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact positively with a diverse range of end-users, management and external vendors.
