Job description

We are a well-established regional law firm that prioritizes our employees, fosters a collaborative culture, and is committed to delivering exceptional value to our clients. We are currently seeking a Legal Technology Trainer to join our Technology Department in our downtown Baton Rouge office.
We are looking for a candidate with 5+ years of technology training or organizational development experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment. This role is responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving technology training programs that empower attorneys and staff to effectively utilize the firm's legal applications and technology platforms. The ideal candidate is an engaging trainer with strong communication, project management, and relationship-building skills who enjoys helping others learn and adapt to new technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and deliver technology training programs for attorneys and staff through one-on-one instruction, classroom training, virtual sessions, and on-demand learning.
  • Train users on both basic and advanced functionality of the firm's core legal applications, Microsoft Office suite, and specialized software platforms.
  • Partner with Firm Management, Practice Group Leaders, Partners, Human Resources, and IT to identify training needs and develop programs that align with firm objectives and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and update training materials, user guides, documentation, and instructional resources for firm technologies and applications.
  • Evaluate organizational learning needs and measure training effectiveness through assessments, surveys, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and expand eLearning content, video-based training, and Learning Management System (LMS) resources to support ongoing professional development.
  • Coordinate and conduct technology onboarding and multi-session application training for new attorneys and staff in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Provide desk-side assistance, floor support, and post-training guidance to reinforce learning and improve technology adoption.
  • Assist with testing, implementation, documentation, and rollout of new software, applications, and technology solutions.
  • Analyze help desk trends and user feedback to identify additional training opportunities and continuously improve training programs.
  • Travel to all eight Louisiana and Texas office locations to conduct in-person training and support firmwide technology initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree, equivalent certifications, or comparable professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of technology training, organizational development, or instructional design experience.
  • Previous law firm or professional services experience is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience planning, developing, and delivering technology training programs for adult learners.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), eLearning platforms, document management systems, and legal software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of legal case management, time entry, and expense management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel throughout Louisiana and Texas, including overnight travel, to support training initiatives across all eight office locations.
