We help clients address complex challenges across accounting, finance, transactions, regulatory compliance, technology, data, and business transformation. We combine deep technical expertise with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach to help leading companies move forward with confidence.

CFGI is seeking an experienced Managing Director to help lead and expand our Data & Analytics practice within Business Transformation. The Data & Analytics team helps clients define data strategies, automate finance and business processes, modernize reporting, and develop visualization and predictive analytics solutions that improve decision-making and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Managing Directors serve as trusted advisors to senior executives, lead complex client engagements, develop and manage strategic client relationships, identify new opportunities, and contribute to the continued growth of CFGI’s Data & Analytics capabilities. This individual will combine strong business and financial acumen with technical data expertise to design customized, tool-agnostic solutions that address each client’s specific needs.

What you might expect:

  • Serve as the executive engagement leader for complex data, analytics, reporting, automation, and business-transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with CFOs, Controllers, FP&A leaders, and executive stakeholders to translate strategic, financial, and operational objectives into practical data, reporting, automation, and analytics solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of data strategies, analytics operating models, reporting solutions, workflow automations, and decision-support tools.
  • Oversee the transformation, validation, and analysis of financial, accounting, operational, and transactional data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and actionable insights that improve reporting quality and business performance.
  • Lead engagements from initial requirements and scope development through solution design, execution, monitoring, implementation, and project close.
  • Advise clients on data architecture, data modeling, data governance, solution architecture, visualization, analytics, and workflow automation.
  • Communicate complex analytical and technical concepts clearly to both technical stakeholders and nontechnical executive audiences.
  • Oversee engagement planning, staffing, project budgets, timelines, quality assurance, risk management, and client satisfaction across multiple workstreams.
  • Develop customized solutions using technologies such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, SQL, Python, and related data platforms.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives involving accounting and finance, FP&A, financial modeling, data analytics, process improvement, and technology implementation.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders while identifying opportunities to expand existing engagements and introduce additional CFGI services.
  • Drive business development by identifying prospective client needs, shaping solutions, developing proposals, supporting sales activities, and cultivating new client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, and Consultants while promoting continuous learning and the adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.
  • Contribute to recruiting, internal capability development, thought leadership, methodology development, and the creation of reusable tools and templates.

What you must have:

  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders while leading complex consulting engagements focused on finance transformation, reporting modernization, automation, analytics, or business process improvement.
  • Experience managing projects from requirements and scope development through solution design, implementation, budget oversight, and final delivery.
  • Advanced experience in at least one data, analytics, visualization, automation, programming, or data-platform competency, including at least six years of consistent hands-on or solution-leadership experience in that area.
  • Significant experience leading client-facing data and analytics, business intelligence, automation, finance transformation, or technology-enabled consulting engagements.

What sets you apart:

  • Experience serving as a trusted advisor to CFOs, Controllers, finance executives, technology executives, and other senior business leaders.
  • Experience interpreting accounting, finance, FP&A, and operational business challenges and translating them into practical data strategies, reporting solutions, automation initiatives, analytics programs, and technology roadmaps that deliver measurable business value.
  • Experience building data and analytics solutions that connect technical capabilities with accounting, finance, FP&A, operational, or strategic business objectives.
  • Experience leading dashboarding and data-visualization initiatives using Power BI, Tableau, or comparable business-intelligence platforms.
  • Experience leading data preparation, ETL, and workflow-automation initiatives using Alteryx, Power Query, Power Automate, Python, SQL, or comparable technologies.
  • Experience advising clients on data architecture, relational data structures, data modeling, solution architecture, data engineering, or analytics operating models.
  • Experience leading multiple engagements, managing cross-functional teams, mentoring professionals, and maintaining accountability for budgets, timelines, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Experience originating new opportunities, expanding client relationships, developing tailored solutions, and driving profitable growth through exceptional client service and trusted advisor relationships.
  • Experience developing analytics solutions across both quantitative and qualitative datasets, including advanced analytics, predictive analytics, or data-science applications.

Nice to have:
