Job description

PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION:
The Allied Health Specialty practiced under the direction and supervision of a Medical Director involving the attended monitoring and testing of individuals suffering from any sleep disorders a classified in the international classification of sleep disorders.  
Educational and/or Professional Qualifications:
1. Bachelors or Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy
Previous Experience:
1. Minimum of six (6) months clinical experience in polysomnography.
2. High degree of communication skills.
Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.:
1.  Current license as a Respiratory Therapist by the State of Louisiana required.
2.  Current registry by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist as a                           Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is strongly encouraged.
3. Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers by American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
4. ACLS and/or PALS are preferred.
