They often work closely with IT teams and end-users, helping to maintain systems, install equipment, and respond to technical inquiries. Tech Associates may also assist in setting up new technology, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer networks. Their role is crucial in keeping technology infrastructure running efficiently.

Job description

THE ROLE

We are looking for an Investment Associate to join our dynamic and growing firm in Atlanta. As part of the Tech Square Ventures investment team, you will play an integral role in supporting the full investment process — from sourcing to diligence to deal execution and portfolio company support. This isn’t just an analytical role — it’s a front‑row seat to the startup ecosystem in the Super South (Texas to DC) and beyond. You’ll connect with founders, corporate executives, and investors; analyze emerging market trends; build foundation skills as a technology investor; and help portfolio companies grow.

As an Associate, you will:

  • Source & Evaluate Investments – Identify and assess early‑stage opportunities across the Super South, building relationships with founders, accelerators, investors, and startup networks to drive the investment pipeline.
  • Collaborate on Investment Themes – Work with our Working Groups to refine investment theses, track market trends, and develop industry and sector insights that fuel our Market‑Led Insights investment approach.
  • Support the Diligence Process – Partner with the investment team on market research, customer interviews, competitive analysis, and product/technical diligence for new investments.
  • Build Financial Models & Memos – Develop models, forecasts, return and valuation analyses, and prepare materials for investment memos and committee presentations.
  • Help Portfolio Companies Scale – Support founders with go‑to‑market strategies, customer and investor introductions, hiring needs, fundraising, tracking and monitoring progress, reporting, and cap‑table modeling.
  • Leverage Internal Tools & AI – Build and use AI and internal tooling to augment investment analysis, automate repetitive workflows, and enhance decision‑making.
  • Participate in Firm Operations – Assist the fund administration team in reporting, preparing portfolio reviews, executing the annual general meeting, and special projects.

This is a 2‑year program role designed for a highly motivated professional eager to launch or accelerate a career in venture capital. High performers will have the potential for advancement to Senior Associate or other roles within the firm. Tech Square Ventures alumni have gone on to become VC partners, corporate executives, and operators at high‑growth startups.

This role is Atlanta‑based and requires working from our Midtown office, as well as actively representing TSV in ecosystem events, conferences, and founder gatherings across the region.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in venture capital, consulting, investment banking, private equity, product management, or a high‑growth startup. (Founder or operating experience a plus.)
  • Strong analytical skills to dissect business models, markets, and financials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to create clear, persuasive materials.
  • Robust financial modeling, data analysis, problem‑solving, and Excel skills.
  • Fluency with startup go‑to‑market strategies, scaling, and operations is a plus.

Personal Qualities

  • Ethical, trustworthy, and detail‑obsessed – aligned with our core values of Service and Stewardship.
  • Intellectually curious and resourceful self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Innovator’s mindset – excited by startups, eager to support founders, and motivated by impact.
  • Growth‑oriented – fast learner capable of juggling multiple high‑stakes deliverables.
  • Humble Hungry – “Pull the wagon” is a mantra at Tech Square Ventures, reflecting our collective willingness to roll up our sleeves and contribute.
HOW TO APPLY

We offer a competitive salary, annual bonus, health, dental, and vision plans, paid time off, and team events.

APPLY HERE.

Tech Square Ventures is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a team of exceptional people who share our core values of service and stewardship, and we recognize that diversity of backgrounds and experiences fuels innovation and deepens our understanding.
