Job description

We are looking for an experienced SAP Basis Expert to manage, maintain, and optimize the SAP landscape across various environments (Development, QA, Production). The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SAP system administration, database management, performance tuning, upgrades, and integration with cloud platforms.

The SAP Basis Expert will collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of SAP systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, Solution Manager, PI/PO, etc.) across multiple landscapes.
  • Perform system installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
  • Manage SAP system performance, tuning, and troubleshooting of runtime issues.
  • Maintain SAP database environments (HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.) and ensure backup/recovery processes are effective.
  • Implement and manage SAP transport management system (TMS).
  • Ensure system security and compliance by managing roles, authorizations, and SSL certificates.
  • Coordinate with cloud/infrastructure teams for SAP systems hosted on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Support integration between SAP and non-SAP systems.
  • Plan and execute system refreshes, client copies, and DR exercises.
  • Provide support during system go-lives, performance testing, and maintenance windows.
  • Monitor and optimize SAP landscape for cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Maintain detailed system documentation and operational procedures.

Must have Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration.
  • Proven experience with SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, and SAP HANA Database.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP landscape design, sizing, and capacity planning.
  • Experience with SAP upgrades, kernel patches, and support packs.
  • Good understanding of SAP Security, Transport Management, and Change Control processes.
  • Experience with OS and DB-level administration (Linux/Unix, Windows, HANA/Oracle).
  • Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) and SAP EarlyWatch.
  • Exposure to SAP Cloud Platform (SCP/BTP) and hybrid environments.
  • Understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) setups.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • SAP Basis certification (e.g., SAP Certified Technology Associate System Administration).
  • Experience with Azure or AWS cloud-hosted SAP environments.
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, or similar) for SAP operations.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as SAP Focused Run, Grafana, or Dynatrace.
  • Familiarity with DevOps/CI-CD for SAP environments.
