Job description

Teacher’s Aide/Assistant 
Academy - Framingham 

Salary Range: $20.50 - $21.50/hour depending on experience + sign-on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is hiring for a creative and supportive individual to work in our Wayside Academy! We provide a supportive culture that is team-focused and places valueon healthy work dynamics. 

What you will do: 

  • Teacher's Aide/Assistant is responsible for providing behavioral and academic support within the classroom to the students and teachers.
  • Assist Special Education Teacher/Instructor in delivering curriculum. Act as substitute teacher when necessary.
  • The Teacher Assistant is expected to act professionally and in a manner that is consistent with Wayside's core service values: resiliency, excellence and diversity. 
  • Provide 1:1 support to students to maintain their ability to stay in the classroom. Offering behavioral support interventions if a student is unable to maintain in the classroom.  
  • Be able to multitask competing priorities to enact the program structure, strive for identified standards of behavior and to provide a positive role model for youth.

MinimumRequirements:  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • 6+ months of experience in educational settings preferred. 

We will train you in: Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC); Trauma Informed Practice. MAP, TCI, CPR, First Aid training upon hire.
