About ThrivePoint Academy of Nevada
ThrivePoint Academy Nevada (TPAN) is currently hiring a High School English Teacher to support our growing student population in the greater Las Vegas area. As a public charter high school, TPAN is committed to delivering personalized, flexible learning pathways that prepare students for postsecondary success.
Individuals hired will join a collaborative team of education professionals dedicated to academic excellence, student engagement, and community partnership. The qualified candidate will work directly with the School Principal and leadership team to strengthen math instruction, enhance student achievement outcomes, and expand TPAN’s impact within the local community.
Overview
We are seeking dynamic and tech-savvy educators to join our team at ThrivePoint Academy of Nevada. Our high school teachers play a pivotal role in engaging students through online courses, as well as providing in-person support on a weekly basis. Our teachers will work in a flexible school setting that emphasizes collaboration and support for all students, including those who require non-traditional learning approaches and credit recovery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the school by engaging the local community, families, and prospective students at community events, through local school and community partnerships, at new student orientation sessions, information sessions, and other events as required.
  • Engage and educate high school students using our online curriculum.
  • Provide weekly, in-person support sessions for students, ensuring their academic progress and well-being.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Navigate learning management systems and online curriculum effectively to facilitate student learning.
  • Utilize video chat and other tech tools to enhance virtual communication with students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to create a supportive and motivating educational experience.
  • Monitor student progress, assess learning needs, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Implement instructional strategies that cater to the unique needs of students seeking credit recovery and alternative learning settings.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Nevada teaching license or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience teaching in high school settings, with a preference for experience in online or virtual education.
  • Proficiency in technology and willingness to adapt to new tech tools and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in-person and virtually.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to serving all students, including those in need of credit recovery and alternative learning settings.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work with colleagues and students to achieve common goals.
