What is teaching in Dubai?

Teaching jobs in Dubai refer to positions available for educators in various schools and educational institutions across the city. These roles can include teaching at international schools, private schools, or language institutes, often catering to a diverse student body. Teachers in Dubai are typically required to have relevant qualifications, such as a degree in education and teaching certification, along with some teaching experience. Many positions offer attractive salary packages, tax-free income, and additional benefits such as housing allowances and health insurance. The city is known for its multicultural environment and high demand for qualified teachers, especially in subjects like English, math, and science.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a teacher in Dubai?

To thrive as a teacher in Dubai, you typically need a relevant bachelor's degree, a teaching qualification such as a PGCE, and often previous teaching experience. Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., British, IB, or American), classroom technology, and UAE Ministry of Education requirements is highly valued. Strong cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and effective communication set outstanding teachers apart in this diverse environment. These skills ensure quality education, compliance with local standards, and positive engagement with a multicultural student body.

What are some unique challenges teachers may face when working in Dubai's international schools?

Teachers in Dubai's international schools often work with students from a wide range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds, which can require adapting lesson plans and communication styles to meet diverse needs. Additionally, educators must familiarize themselves with the local regulations and curriculum standards, which may differ from those in their home countries. Adapting to the local work culture and expectations, such as the school calendar and dress codes, can also be part of the initial adjustment period. However, these challenges provide valuable opportunities for professional growth and intercultural experience.

Job description

About Ode with Anthropic

How do you turn a decades-old dataset into an industry-leading medical coding agent? Teach an AI receptionist to book appointments in Spanish? Automatically generate working data connectors from API docs? Build agents that write, test, and deploy their own software packages?

Anthropic is defining frontier AI. Ode is the team bringing frontier AI into practice.

We are a team of experienced builders who care deeply about getting complex AI systems into production, with strong conviction about what makes them succeed. As Anthropic’s services venture, we tackle the hardest, most consequential AI problems for companies with real stakes, working closely with their Applied AI and Product teams to turn frontier technology into real world impact.

We're backed by Anthropic, Blackstone, Hellman & Friedman, Goldman Sachs, General Atlantic, Leonard Green & Partners, Apollo Global Management, GIC, and Sequoia Capital.

We're headquartered in SF with offices in NYC, Raleigh-Durham, and Dubai.

The Role

We’re hiring our first IT & Information Security Lead to own the systems that keep Ode secure, compliant, and running smoothly as we scale.

You’ll own IT end-to-end—from identity and access to devices, SaaS, and employee onboarding—as well as our information security and compliance program. You’ll build the systems and controls that let us move quickly while meeting the security expectations of sophisticated enterprise customers.

This is a hands-on builder role. We’re looking for someone who has owned IT and security at a fast-growing technology company, knows where rigor matters and where process gets in the way, and is excited to build a lean, AI-native function.

What You'll Do
  • Own corporate IT end-to-end, including identity and access, devices, SaaS, onboarding and offboarding, and employee IT support.

  • Own SOC 2 and future compliance frameworks, including controls, policies, audits, risk assessments, and remediation.

  • Own information security operations, including incident response, security awareness, access reviews, and vendor security.

  • Partner with Engineering on cloud and application security, helping identify risks and drive remediation.

  • Build an AI-native, highly automated IT and security function that scales without unnecessary process or headcount.

What You Bring
  • Experience owning IT and information security at a fast-growing technology company.

  • Hands-on expertise across identity and access, endpoint management, SaaS administration, and employee IT.

  • Experience owning SOC 2, including controls, audits, policies, and ongoing compliance.

  • Strong security judgment—you know where rigor matters and where process just gets in the way.

  • High ownership and a bias toward automation. You build simple, scalable systems and are comfortable getting into the details yourself.

Our Values
  • Overdeliver: We are writing the playbook on how to create enterprise value with LLMs, and building our reputation as the world’s best applied AI team.

  • Overuse AI: We obsessively explore and experiment with Claude to push the frontier of applied AI and share what we learn with our teammates.

  • Over “engineer” the Culture: We’re building a culture that attracts and retains top applied AI talent, and we stress test large decisions through the perspective of our world class builders.

Compensation Range: $140K - $210K
