The Oregon City School District is seeking highly motivated, adaptable, and fully certified educators to join our internal pool of Certified Substitute Teachers. In this role, you will support educational continuity across our school communities by stepping into diverse classroom environments, implementing pre-designed lesson plans, and ensuring a safe, engaging learning atmosphere for all students.
Essential Responsibilities
- Execute Lesson Plans: Deliver instruction as outlined by the absent classroom teacher across various subject areas.
- Classroom Leadership: Maintain structural routines, establish positive student rapport, and foster an inclusive, equitable environment.
- Student Safety: Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, and common areas while adhering to District safety policies.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Full TSPC Certification Required: Applicants must hold an active certified teaching license issued by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC).
- Accepted license types include: Preliminary, Professional, Reciprocal, Restricted Sub Teaching (RSTL) or standard Substitute Licenses.
- Please note: Those seeking district sponsorship to obtain a license are not eligible for this pool.
- Clackamas ESD Registration: Must be registered and cleared through the regional Clackamas Education Service District substitute pool.
- Mandatory Training: Verification of completion of the 5 mandatory training modules.
Compensation:
- Daily Rate: $260.00 per full day (half-day rates will be prorated accordingly).
- Long-Term Assignment Rate: Substitutes remaining in the same classroom assignment for more than 10 consecutive days will transition to a higher rate of $303.00 per full day, starting on the 11th consecutive day.
- Schedule: Day-to-day, on-call options based on your personal availability via our automated dispatch system.
Onboarding Steps:
- Submit Application: Complete your application directly through the Oregon City School District application portal.
- HR Screening: Once your credentials are verified, our Human Resources team will contact you to coordinate an onboarding appointment.
- Onboarding Documents: Please bring the following items to your district appointment:
- Identification: Valid government-issued ID and Social Security card (or a valid Passport).
- Proof of completion of mandatory training modules.
- Conditional Verification Documents: Only bring the physical documents listed below if the HR department notifies you that they were unable to verify your status through our online portals:
- Proof of Clackamas ESD registration
- Official copy or eLicensing verification of your active Oregon Teaching License.
