Job description

Spring Education Group is a multi-brand education network of superior private school institutions spanning infant care through high school. The network (currently composed of approximately 220 schools) brings together some of the best private school programs in the country, with proven track records educating children through unique and carefully crafted curricula.
Position: Teacher Assistant
Reports to: School Director
Employment Status: $22/hour
Contract start date: August 17, 2026
French Immersion School, L'Étoile, is hiring French speaking preschool Assistants for the 2026-2027 school year.
In this role, you will support the lead teacher in all classroom tasks and be an active collaborator in the life of the class. We are a French immersion school in Portland, Oregon, accredited by the AEFE. Our students speak another language at home, often English, but not always, so you will primarily speak French with students for whom it is the language of instruction. The teachers you will work and collaborate with are all French.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting the lead teacher during class time
  • Replacing the teacher for short-term absences
  • Leading a group or half-group according to the teacher's instructions
  • Supervising recess
  • Maintaining classroom cleanliness
  • Helping children dress/undress and follow hygiene routines

Compensation: $22.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
