The position is based on hourly compensation, with the number of annual hours to be determined and with leave as defined in the Classified Employees' Handbook.
Qualifications:
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Accept the responsibility of assigned tasks.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with students and staff, using proper grammar and vocabulary.
  • Be able to perform simple clerical tasks proficiently.
  • Have the ability to maintain discipline in the school setting.
  • Be punctual in all assignments.

General Responsibilities:
  • Aid the teacher in preparing room for class and in distributing and gathering materials.
  • Help prepare, distribute, and collect lesson materials.
  • Instruct students under the teacher's supervision.
  • Keep the classroom neat and orderly.
  • Aid the teacher in arranging bulletin boards.
  • Supervise the playground under the teacher's supervision.
  • When necessary, supervise students in the lunch area, gym, lavatories, library, and other designated areas.
  • Perform duties to meet the safety and personal care of students.
  • Observe all district policies appropriate to the position.
  • Under a teacher's supervision, assist with performance objectives.
  • Assist with small-group learning activities.
  • Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures.
  • Perform relevant duties as assigned by the teacher and building principal.
  • Exhibit total confidentiality in matters relating to students.
