What is a tea time?

A Tea Time job typically refers to a position where an individual is responsible for preparing, serving, and sometimes organizing tea breaks within an office, hotel, or social setting. The role may include brewing various types of teas, setting up tea service, and ensuring that all necessary accompaniments like snacks or pastries are available. In some contexts, a Tea Time job can also involve hosting or facilitating tea-related events or ceremonies, focusing on customer service and hospitality. This job is common in places where tea culture is prominent, such as the UK, India, or Japan. Attention to detail, good communication skills, and a welcoming attitude are important qualities for this role.

What are some common responsibilities for a tea sommelier in a hospitality setting?

As a Tea Sommelier, your daily responsibilities typically include curating and maintaining the tea menu, conducting tastings for guests, and educating both staff and patrons about different tea varieties and proper brewing techniques. You'll often collaborate with chefs to create tea pairings for dishes or special events, and may also oversee tea service standards to ensure a high-quality guest experience. Additionally, sourcing premium teas and managing supplier relationships are important aspects of the role.
