Job description

What We're Looking For

The HNTB Traffic/ITS and Technology team is seeking a driven professional to join our growing team with a focus on project management, technical delivery, and staff development. This opportunity supports Connected Vehicle and Freight programs along with technical-delivery focused projects. Traffic engineering efforts may be focused on safety, forecasting, analysis, or signal design in a leading role. Projects and programs range from local corridor level to large-scale efforts including complex alternative delivery serving clients such as GDOT TMC, GDOT Office of Planning, City of Atlanta, Gwinnett County, Cobb County, MARTA, and TDOT. Regular engagement with clients and project stakeholders may be required. An ideal candidate has experience leading traffic operations and safety analysis deliverable development and has hands-on experience with project management responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence to the schedule and budget on projects.
  • Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
  • Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
  • Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
  • Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience, or
  • Master's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience, or
  • PhD in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • Proficiency with traffic analysis and simulation tools, including Synchro, VISSIM, SIDRA, HCS, and HSS

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and GIS tools such as ArcGIS Pro

  • Prior experience with, or a strong interest in, technology-focused and innovative transportation projects

  • Strong technical writing and report development skills

  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Effective time management, with the ability to proactively forecast project needs and clearly communicate project development requirements across multiple technical disciplines.

  • Prepares high quality deliverables that are on time, and within budget and scope.

What We Prefer:

  • Master's degree in Engineering

  • 8 years relevant experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification

  • Road Safety Professional (RSP) certification

  • PDP Certified
