Job description

About TDK-Lambda Americas

At TDK-Lambda Americas, we power the technologies that keep the world moving. As part of the global TDK Corporation, we're a trusted leader in power conversion technology, designing innovative power supplies used in medical, industrial, defense, factory automation, and other mission-critical industries.

We're more than an engineering company—we're a team of innovators who value collaboration, continuous improvement, and new ideas. With competitive benefits, opportunities for professional growth, and a culture where employees are empowered to make an impact, TDK-Lambda Americas is a place where you can build a meaningful career.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on Repair Depot Electronic Technician who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with electronic equipment.

In this role, you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, and test AC/DC power supplies and other electronic products. You'll work at both the component and system level, using schematics and electronic test equipment to identify failures and ensure repaired products meet TDK's quality, safety, and performance standards.

What You'll Do
  • Inspect incoming power supplies and electronic equipment for defects and signs of failure.
  • Troubleshoot electronic failures at the component, circuit-board, subassembly, and system levels.
  • Diagnose issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, AC power sources, and other test equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and technical documentation.
  • Repair or replace electronic components including capacitors, resistors, diodes, transistors, MOSFETs, transformers, relays, connectors, fans, fuses, and circuit boards.
  • Perform soldering, desoldering, electronic rework, wire termination, and mechanical repairs.
  • Test repaired products to verify performance, safety, and quality.
  • Document repairs, test results, parts usage, and failure-analysis findings.
  • Identify recurring failures and communicate findings with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
  • Follow ESD controls, calibration requirements, safety procedures, and established quality standards.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce repair time, repeat failures, and material waste.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of experience repairing power supplies, electronic assemblies, industrial equipment, or similar products.
  • Strong understanding of analog electronics and AC/DC circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Hands-on soldering, desoldering, and electronic rework experience.
  • Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to follow documented repair and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certificate or associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with switching or industrial power supplies and other power-conversion equipment.
  • IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or similar electronics/soldering certification.
  • Experience with high-voltage troubleshooting and electrical safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with automated test equipment, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, and power analyzers.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and component-level failure analysis.
Why You'll Love This Role
  • Work hands-on with electronic products and power technologies.
  • Solve real technical problems rather than performing the same task every day.
  • Work alongside Engineering and Quality teams to identify and resolve product issues.
  • Develop your troubleshooting and component-level repair expertise.
  • Contribute ideas that improve repair processes and product quality.
  • Build your career with a global technology organization.
Compensation

The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $28.00 and $36.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match

Physical & Work Environment

This is a hands-on electronics position primarily performed in a repair depot or electronics laboratory. The role may require standing or working at a bench for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, using soldering and test equipment, wearing appropriate PPE, and occasionally working overtime based on business needs.
