Job description

Job Title: Registered Nurse – TCU (Transitional Care Unit)
Facility: Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center 
Address: 4320 Maricopa St, Torrance, CA 90503
Schedule: 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM (5x8-Hour Shifts)
Duration: 8-week contract
Pay Rate: $57/hr (W2) | $60/hr (1099)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Transitional Care Unit (TCU).
This facility is focused on sub-acute rehabilitation and provides skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients.
The TCU is a distinct unit with 87 beds and maintains an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a sub-acute rehab setting.
  • Administer medications, manage peripheral IV lines, and provide oxygen therapy.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and social services.
  • Utilize PPE and adhere to isolation protocols as required.
  • Chart and document patient information accurately using the Epic EMR system.
  • Float to similar units as needed to meet facility demands.

Qualifications
  • Required Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
  • Skills:
    • IV therapy and peripheral line care
    • Oxygen administration via nasal cannula or face mask
    • Infection control and use of PPE
