Job description

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Program Coordinator - Physical Therapy Asst. position in the Health and Public Safety Technologies Division of Academic and Student Affairs. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College's main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Under the general supervision of the Dean of Health and Public Safety Technologies, the Full-Time Program Coordinator - Physical Therapy Asst., is responsible for fulfilling both administrative and teaching duties under the direction of the Division Dean. As both faculty members and program administrators, Program Coordinators hold planning, organizational, and supervisory responsibilities essential to the success of the college.
Duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
• Demonstrate a variety of teaching techniques appropriate to the discipline and diverse student learning styles.
• Implement appropriate assessment, testing, grading, student feedback, and record-keeping procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of the subject area and the application of skills within the contemporary workplace.
• Execute student recruitment, enrollment, retention, graduation, and job placement activities.
• Advise and counsel students regularly while maintaining accurate advisement records.
• Provide necessary student support outside of class by maintaining designated office hours.
• Ensure adherence to an approved master course syllabus and participate in the evaluation of student learning outcomes.
• Exhibit effective writing, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with students, faculty, and staff.
• Commit to the use of information and instructional technology in course delivery.
• Design and coordinate instruction to meet or exceed state standards.
• Enforce health and safety requirements in all classrooms and laboratories.
• Communicate program and student needs to the Division Dean through strategic planning and budgeting.
• Interview and recommend new full-time and adjunct faculty members for employment.
• Facilitate the completion of adjunct faculty paperwork and payroll procedures.
• Orient new faculty members to the college and the specific program requirements.
• Coordinate activities for the program advisory committee and the maintenance of program accreditation.
• Participate in state Consortium Committees, the college-wide Faculty Council, and IEP activities to promote program improvement.
• Monitor equipment inventory and verify the accuracy of program information in all academic publications.
• Manage the ordering of consumables and develop teaching schedules for all campuses.
• Oversee maintenance and housekeeping activities to ensure an environment conducive to learning.
• Maintain professional qualifications as required by the state and the college.
• Adhere to the rules stated in the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and all college-specific procedures.
• Serve on assigned committees and participate in division-wide meetings.
• Perform additional duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
• Bachelor's degree *and* Two (2) years related work experience
Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess and demonstrate the following:
• Master's degree.
• Physical Therapy or Physical Therapist Assistant degree from an accredited institution.
• Holds an active, unencumbered PT license or PTA license/certification in compliance with the Georgia State Practice Act.
• A minimum of five years, full-time, post-licensure experience that includes a minimum of three (3) years of full-time clinical experience.
• Provide evidence of a minimum of 60 contact hours of professional development or education comprising exclusively and comprehensively the four content areas of: education theory and methodology, instructional design, student evaluation and outcome assessment. Evidence of completion of the ABPTRFE Faculty (non-clinical) Residency program may also be accepted. Identify individual, where residency completed, and date of degree completion.
• Demonstrated knowledge of educational theory, instructional design, student evaluation, and outcome assessment, including nine (9) credits (or equivalent) in educational foundations.
• Proven experience in classroom, lab, and/or clinical teaching.
• Experience in administration, management, and leadership. Experience derived from the clinic is acceptable.
• Active membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Ability to work flexible hours when necessary.
