Job description

Join TI's Advanced Technology Development organization, focused on state-of-the-art semiconductor technology development. We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate or early-career professional to join our experienced technology reliability development team. In this role, you will perform TCAD simulation, characterization, and modeling of transistor reliability mechanisms.

Responsibilities include:

  • TCAD device simulation for device reliability optimization.  
  • Assess the impact of process/layout on transistor reliability. 
  • Develop Reliability Models based on data and underlying degradation kinetics.
  • Perform Bench testing and collect data
  • Develop new test capability using parametric analyzers and bench equipment
  • Long term package level testing for reliability modeling
  • BTI process optimization for advanced analog/CMOS nodes
    The person performing this role must be capable to plan effectively, drive schedules, meet critical deadlines on multiple tasks in parallel, lead technical discussions in their area of expertise, and work effectively across organizational boundaries. They must be able to clearly communicate project status and actions. Additionally, they must be able to interface with multiple organizations and work well on a diverse team to accomplish goals.

Minimum requirements:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or related degree
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher


Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of semiconductor device physics and reliability
  • Strong analytical and programming skills (Python, MATLAB etc.)
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Working well in a team environment is imperative in this role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships
  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
